HouseParty ~ Great Fun ~ Free Products
Everyone likes to have a get together. With houseparty they make it easy. First you need to sign up at http://www.houseparty.com/ . After you have signed up you can fill out applications for parties being offered. If you are selected you will receive a nice size box from UPS filled with everything you need to throw a great party. I have been lucky enough to have quite a few of these and I am totally addicted. The newest one I was picked for was a pull-ups potty dance party. This was perfect considering my 2 year old is potty training. We received 15 pre packs to distribute to everyone. They all had coupons, a dvd, a blow up guitar, stickers and more! The other one I am doing in a couple of weeks is through Walgreens. It is showing their new line of products called "NICE". This box came full with all kinds of food, notepads, bags and more to help throw your party. This is an awesome site and I recommend you sign up and fill those applications out!

Couponing 101
I decided after my first couponing class I needed to get my butt in gear and update my blog page. This way the deals I find can easily be organized in one place for everyone else to see. I am new to this and have to admit it seems a bit confusing. I will do my best to present my ideas in an organized and easy to follow way. It may take a week or two but I will have this blog up and running with all kinds of awesome finds.
I held my first couponing class this past Thursday. We had a great time. Lots of information learned and freebies given out. I hope everyone had a good time and developed a stronger foundation for all the savings that are out there. A reminder that we are offering a coupon swap/organizer at the Naples, Public Library coming up on Wed. February 29th at 7pm. This will be a great place to learn more about coupons while also getting better organized. This is a Free class to anyone interested. http://www.naples.lib.me.us/NPL/Welcome.html
Couponing 102 will be held on March 1st at 5pm to 8pm for those interested. We will be going over how to get "free" items, how to use Catalina's, best online deals, such as groupon, livinsocial, etc along with savingstar and upromise.
Of course we will play a game or two and have fun fun fun!!! You can still sign up by going to http://crookedriver.maineadulted.org/courses/course/couponing__intermediate_102

Daycation = Family Fun
Recently my family and I decided to travel down to Portsmouth, New Hampshire to spend the day at Water Country. It was a Saturday and if I had thought a bit harder about it would have choose a weekday instead. There were like a trillion people and lines were long. We opted to pay an extra $14.00 for "preferred" parking which left us only steps away from the entrance. This was good for a family who had a lot of baggage to bring with them. The lines to enter the park went quite fast and I was happy to see they accepted all credit/debit cards. We are an Amex using family and sometimes it can be a challenge just to find places that accept it. It was a bit expensive for a family of four at 37.00 each however they did offer a nice discount if you purchased a family of four online ticket for a total of $115.00. Once in the park it was a bit overwhelming to say the least. All the attractions seemed to be spaced far from each other. While taking a walk I came across a part of the park I didn't even know was there. We rented a cabana which cost an extra $80.00 but was well worth the money to have your own space to retreat to. I can honestly say that I can not fathom ever going to another water park without the use of a rented cabana. It had four lawn chairs, two which could lay flat and a side table that was enjoyed our lunch on.
Remember to bring water shoes! I did not buy a pair and ended up with blisters due to the hot hot ground and graveled pools. They did have a nice size shop there that carried the shoes along with bathing suits, trinkets, and personal care products. The prices were typical for any amusement park and I would suggest always bringing your own stuff. The food was very high priced we ended up getting two hot dog meals (hot dog and chips) one hamburger meal, and "adding" fries for a few bucks more. I think it all cost a total of $28.00. You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks, I would suggest this next time only because of the cost and time spent in line. It really was a fun day we ended up being there from about 11:00 am to 5:30 pm. The kids definitely slept well that night!
